Dear Ms. Delamare:

 

My name is Saif allahabi and I was born and raised in Saudi Arabia. My parents are from Yemen but they moved to Saudi Arabia when they were kid. We used to go to Yemen to visit our families and friends there during summers. I finished my high school in Saudi Arabia and I was trying to get accepted in college for a year. When I got accepted in one of the biggest colleges I decided to come to the US and start my college.

 

I arrived in the US in December 2016 and started taking some English courses for a year. After a lot of questions and a long search I finally decided to go to City College of New York. I started college this year in the spring semester and this is my second semester I started to like it because you feel that the professors want to help you being better in all fields.

Now I am studying mechanical engineering because I have been always dreaming to be an engineer. You might be wondering why I chose specifically to be a mechanical engineer and not other types of engineering, well my dad has his own car repair shop and he was into fixing cars since he was a child but he never went to a school. He was working for living so he learned the basics of the mechanic by working not studying. So, my dream is to be like him but with the right way to do it and make him proud of me.

 

Nowadays, everything work with mechanic and you can not spend a day without the need of using a machine or mechanic stuff. Transportations for example, one of the most important things that human had invented, either for travel to other countries or to go to your job you would need it.

 

Cars, trains, ships, planes, and more are all machines you can not build or fix without mechanical engineers. That is how I see my field helping people in their day life and to make a better world. I believe that I can change the world by inventing new machines in the future like flying cars, transporter gates, and changing size machines and let our life even easier.
